This is the most amazing taxidermy shop in the world. After a serious fire threatened to close the shop in 2007, Deyrolle is back on its feet thanks to its many supporters including Prince Louis-Albert de Broglie, Hermès, Gallimard (who commissioned Pierre Assouline to write a history of Deyrolle), artists Sophie Calle and Nan Goldin, François Pinault, Gérard Depardieu, Paul Smith and Damien Hirst.
Gold-gilded mint green walls encase this walk-in cabinet of curiosities. From tacked beetles to full-sized giraffes and antique anatomy posters, Deyrolle is a playground for the oddity-inclined.
This animated graveyard is also home to a small garden store, pairing the once-living with soon-to-be seedlings.
